Entry for September 22, 2006

I wrote about trusting Camilla, Chris and Pete in my last entry because the mommy whom the entry before that was about got all pissed off when she read it and no longer befriends us.
Big deal.
I’ve lost things before and whenever I lose something I suspect someone of stealing it. Expensive malas, inexpensive malas and rings, a new pair of glasses, all of these things have disappeared around me. Most commonly I suspect mom. I don’t know why she would steal these things but if only one other person is in the house and a thing disappears, what do you think?
Do you know one of the Krsna stories about Gauranga whose mother discovers the offerings to the Lord have disappeared? It is in the Caitanya-Caritamrta. You wonder about things like that! The miraculous. Naturally it is stated that the Lord himself, Shri Krishna took the offering. Chaitanya, or Gauranga is the incarnation of Krishna as a pure devotee so it is suggested his presence brings about this miracle.
Ram Butler of the former Siddha Yoga Correspondance Course speaks of feeling like he had disappeared during meditation. I sometimes wonder if these various objects are not jealous of each other and disappear upon your favoring one over the other. I noticed a rudraksha mala disappeared after I started chanting “that other mantra” on a sandalwood mala. It makes you feel a bit mad and by mad I mean insane to think that objects have this kind of consciousness.
