Liberal Media and Liberal Ideas

March 21, 2011 Leave a comment

I just don’t understand how liberals have ugly things to say about kids in provocative clothes. I mean what if the girls were nudists? Isn’t that ok? Isn’t it ok to be a nudist?
They fight about this in yoga, castigating the sky clad sannyasis. Usually it’s the Vaishnavas cursing the Shaivites. So, it’s an issue.
But liberals have nothing to do with yoga either. It’s a religion to them, not a science as yogis often, or is it always, claim. Since it is religion it has no place in the pages of their media or in government. Don’t mention yoga when a faith based governor puts Christ in the prisons. Don’t even suggest it or look at programs that are already in place there. Baba Muktananda came to this area in 1975. You know where he spoke? At Raiford Prison. Ram Dass was here that same year. He spoke at the University and the community college. Or didn’t speak. He blessed us but spoke not as I recall. I found out about Swami Muktananda’s visit years later as I wasn’t present in Gainesville, FL then, I was traveling to Gaskins Farm and The Rainbow Festival in Arkansas and Walden II and Cuckoo Farm and Naropa Institute in Boulder, CO. I learned of Baba and his Prison Program years later when I visited one of his meditation centers in Gainesville in 1978 or 9.
It’s a wonder that liberal media like Salon bitch about Obama’s center politics when they have nothing to offer to yoga or nudism.

Big Game

I really enjoyed the game today. It’s interesting that Ram is writing about his athletic career and how the principles of universal truth were involved. It was really visualization. He imagined in his fantasies how he would sink every shot in basketball and the next year excelled in the sport. Our thoughts – and feelings – being the key. I tried to tell this to my golfing brother once but … I don’t know what ever came of it.

I was so desperate this afternoon when the game on the streaming video was running behind the game being twittered by one osgators at twitter.com. I think I didn’t read a thing from the 5 minute point to the 20 seconds remaining. Rachel George is in charge and she reported the shot by Erving Walker, that improbable shot against the taller, heavier man that went in and gave Florida a 5 point lead. The lead had been 6, then cut to 3 and with Walker’s shot it was 5. It was just after Kenny Boynton had gotten hurt. My streaming video game hadn’t even shown the 2 3 pointers by Boynton and Erik Murphy that put us ahead 6. Finally, I was seeing that and I had to wait and wait and wait. Suddenly, it was Gators by 6 with 20 seconds to go. Still possible for UCLA to tie or win with some mistakes on our part. Maybe we miss free throws, maybe we throw it away or give up a steal. Luckily none of those things happened.

Realized after some time that BYU whom we may play in the Elite 8 was the team we played last year that eliminated us in the first round. Today the broadcasters were talking about how Donovan sat his now senior players, was it at the beginning of this year, for the failure to put for the effort in practice and at the game last year. BYU sat a player for having sex. I understand he was their biggest star but now I remember a fellow named Jimmer being the BIG STAR. So, what’s with that kind of journalism? Jimmer Fredette. He’s having a good time against Gonzaga now, though I think the Zags played a tougher opponent than BYU when they played St. John’s University. BYU got Wofford.

Beautiful Women at Starbucks today

I saw some beautiful women at Starbucks today. The first was studying. More came after and it seemed like the whole place was full of attractive woman. Lastly, one just blew me away with a pair of blue slippers that over powered me. She was just a young woman, too. Had had her hair done which I know cost her over $65. What women go through, seriously. How much were the shoes, I wonder.
I kept singing the Elvis Costello song, the angels want to wear my red shoes, but I put blue shoes in the line instead. Blue shoes, blue shoes, the angels want to wear my blue shoes. They were hot.

Pathos, last post

March 14, 2011 Leave a comment

My last post was pretty negative but I’m feeling better lately even though the Gators didn’t win the SEC Tournament. I get upset at times and maybe I should delete a post like my last one though, dear me, I hardly remember what it was about.

I just uploaded a link at my Facebook page of some girls with handicaps that a Urantia Book supporter wants to help. I noticed that I do try to avoid dealing with these extreme cases of misfortune. A young boy was wheeled into Panera Bread the other day who was suffering from Cerebral Palsy I believe. It was just terrible. I hope he enjoyed going out to eat though and Panera’s isn’t a bad place, either. I had an enjoyable tomato and mozzarella panini. At that time I also got a free bakery item with my coffee. I had a cheese danish.

Panera has been doing good things to feed the poor I read in my newspaper, opening a place somewhere where those suffering difficult economic times could eat for free and those not so bad off could leave an offering. I forget where that is. It’s not in Gainesville.

I got my Lifeline discount on my phone bill this month. Neato. Saved about $25. I’m wondering about my food stamps though. Last time I used the card it maxed out. It renews every month but I am unclear on exactly what day. I’m sure they’ve renewed my eligibility.

Good news about my TV. I got it over to the repair shop. I also would like to share with you how I got this deal from Wachovia Bank that will allow me to take 50% off of the repair cost. I just send them the bill and they will send me a check for half the cost. Isn’t that neat. I forget the name of the program but the first month is $1 and the following months are $14. When the guy on the phone said I got 1/2 off on electronics repairs I was immediately interested. There were other parts of the thing that I can’t remember and the brochure on the program is somewhere on my apartment floor right now. I had to write to the bank to find out if I had to use my check card to get the money back. I was getting a lost card replaced when I was offered the deal. Since my 54″ plasma TV was out, naturally I went for it. I had been hearing some very high prices for repair but I just don’t know about all that. You can buy a new one for $1,000 but I sure don’t want to do that. I don’t know what it will cost. I’m just a little in the dark about all that.

Hoping I can get a job before I have to start using Sears and Penney’s cards to pay bills and things. That’s what happened before I came to selling the house. I’m sorry none of my family are able to help me out with this impossible debt.

Tomorrow is my birthday! I’ll be 58.

I have by the way trashed that last post so don’t look for it.
