A Military Academy

A fellow I knew when I was 18 told another friend of mine who was 18 about being sent to a military academy. Somehow in my mind I saw a Naval academy but later I learned his daddy, who had died some years before, was a Marine. This fellow had a picture of himself in his daddy’s uniform. Hot shit in a marine uniform and a drink in his hand. But somehow I see this fellow in the Navy, all white, a sailor’s outfit, really. Nothing breaks it. I can’t understand it.

We ultimately did not get along. I wonder if it was because the only service I knew was the Air Force. This fellow’s daddy was a pilot, too. A marine pilot. Odd thing isn’t it? Well, maybe fighter pilot changes that.
